On December 7, the Austin City Council will be holding a hearing on the proposed Land Development Code. This proposal will impact every single-family lot in the city. This proposal will be voted on in two phases. The first phase will allow a single-family house to be replaced with 3 units on the property. The second phase would allow lots to be subdivided. Some have expressed concerns about parking, environment, and drainage.
We had a presentation at our last Northwood Neighborhood Association about this proposal and we wanted to pass on information from that presentation. Thanks to Mr. English for speaking about this upcoming proposal and sharing information from the Milwood Neighborhood website .
If you are interested in protesting the proposed Land Development Code you will need to submit your protest by December 5 before the next City Council meeting.
Outline of the changes can be found here .
Additional information is available on this comprehensive PowerPoint presentation .
If you are interested in filing a protest take these 3 steps:
File a city-approved protest (grab 4 neighbors – owners, not renters) AND file an online protest (may not be accepted by city)
File a Comment if opposing this change online or attend council meeting in person
Email the City Council with your concerns
